"We keep going after what we want," said Hussein Siblini, whose family owns the thriving New Yasmeen Bakery in Dearborn.
Arab Americans have achieved a solidly middle-class economic status in American society, according to newly released U.S. Census data.

But their rise comes as no surprise to Hussein Siblini, 30, whose family owns the thriving New Yasmeen Bakery in Dearborn. The Siblini left war-torn Lebanon for the United States 10 years ago.

"We keep going after what we want. We spent day and night at the business in order to get it to work," said Siblini, who also is working on a master's degree in computer science at Wayne State University. "We have been in the bakery business a long time. Our father had a bakery in Lebanon. Business is our first priority."
